ILGA-Europe has recently launched a campaign with the aim of increasing awareness and lobbying for support in view of the European Parliament elections to be held throughout Europe in June.
The Malta Gay Rights Movement, together with a large number of other LGBT rights organizations around Europe, is also supporting this initiative. MGRM is busy lobbying with candidates contesting for the European Parliament elections to be held in Malta on Saturday 6th June 2009 in order to encourage them to sign a pledge that shows their support for human rights.

After the EP elections:
With David Casa's signature in late August, Malta becomes the only EU country which saw all of its elected MEPs sign ILGA-Europe's pledge.
